Construction is one of the most dangerous occupations in the world, incurring more occupational fatalities than any other sector in both the United States and in the European Union. In 2009, the fatal occupational injury rate among construction workers in the United States was nearly three times that for all workers. (Wikipedia). It’s been widely accepted that training in general, not just commercial construction training drops these numbers substantially.
If you work in Commercial Construction, you are used to tight timelines, multi trade simultaneous & overhead work, and workplace congestion. Most people would run for the hills. Not you…Challenge accepted! Buildings and institutions like hospitals, and office buildings are the cornerstones of our society, and it’s not easy building the heart of a city.
We’ve a assembled a 5 level curriculum of 18 compulsory & 10 Elective courses to help your commercial construction training needs. We’ve touched on Industry based training topics such as pre-access requirements, industrial hygiene, defensive driving, working at heights, and industry skills.
Keep in mind, that for courses based on “Equipment Operation” (ie: Forklift), “Life Safety”(ie: Body Harness) or “Life Preservation” (ie: Standard First Aid) Worker competency must be proven before a person can be considered fully trained. Competency evaluations are attached to each course requiring one in our database. Just be sure you have a competent person evaluating. For more information on competency, you can give us a call or read up on it, as described by the COAA here…
