Your potential 5-year WCB rebate
—
This is money WCB pays back to you — not what it costs.
SECOR PIR rebate — 10% year one, then 5% every year after.
That’s your share of the ~$106.5M WCB is forecast to pay back to certified Alberta employers for 2025 — 3,836 companies collected through ACSA alone.

The first-year rebate you haven’t claimed.
How that works
Your premium is a flat industry rate — everyone in your class pays it, certified or not. SECOR companies are eligible for 10% back the first year, then a 5% floor that rises toward 20% as claims costs improve. Until you certify you claim none of it, and every further year of waiting forfeits that year’s rebate.

Premium is the base industry rate — before any WCB discounts or surcharges on your account.
SECOR earns WCB’s PIR rebate. PIR pays whichever of its measures is highest — holding the certificate sets the floor — 5% (10% in year one) — and improving your claims costs takes it up to 20%. The floor comes with the certificate; the rest you earn. On top of that, the real return is the work you can now bid.
How the range works
Year one is a flat 10%. After that, simply holding SECOR keeps you at the program’s 5% floor — no claims-record improvement needed. As your claims costs improve, PIR pays more, up to a 20% cap. The expected figure assumes steady improvement, not a best case. (Experience Rating is a separate WCB program for larger-premium employers — it isn’t part of this estimate.)
